Concerned about respecting the
environment, J.J. Robert has chosen to implement
"sustainable viticulture" and also envisions
using the technique of sexual confusion. Favouring full revelation of his terroirs, he limits yields by short cane pruning (traditional "Guyot" pruning with Mâconnais cane bending) and bunch thinning when he judges it necessary. Harvest takes place when the grapes have reached optimal maturity. |
| ...The expression of the exceptional terroirs of Fuissé, Pouilly, Mâcon-Solutré, and Mâcon-Fuissé. |
| Mâcon-Solutré,
"Clos des Bertillones"
is harvested on soil of shale with a hint of granite. Yields are small. Its nose of hawthorn flowers, white fruit, and honey always offers perfect harmony on the palate. |

Le
Pouilly-Fuissé "La Croix"
is harvested on soil of shale. The vines are 67 years old and the harvest for the 97 vintage did not exceed 40hl/ha. This wine has a beautiful mineral quality, solid structure and as always, great elegance. |
| Le
Pouilly-Fuissé "Les Reisses",
one of Fuissé's three vineyards, is harvested on soil
consisting of chalky marn, with an important layer of
clay. The vines are well over 60 years old and yields are small. This wine traditionally has a solid structure and is extremely delicate, being of a great breed. |

Le
Pouilly-Fuissé "Cuvée Claude Denogent"
comes from two parcels over 70 years old. The
soil is very chalky and the yield
"confidential". This wine has a very intense
palate, and lots of class, very "fuissé". |
| Le
Pouilly-Fuissé "Les Carrons"
comes from a parcel 82 years old and is situated on one
of the best slopes of the appellation. The soil is a mix
of clay and stone, with good natural drainage. This full-bodied wine is perfect for cellaring, displaying a powerful bouquet with a hint of mineral, a genuine reflection of an exceptional terroir. |
